Cannot make new connections from custom connection views

We're running D365 online with Unified Interface.

On the opportunity form I needed to remove the standard "Sales Team" connections view and create a similar one but with slightly different criteria and columns.

The problem is that that we cannot add "new" connections to this view because the "new" ("plus") button isn't showing.

In fact, this happens whenever I customize a connections view on any form which is slightly annoying.

But I'm guessing that I'm just missing something. If anyone knows how to fix this please chime in

    Hi Fedorov,

Please check if your security role has the Read, Append and Append To permissions on the Connection.

    Hi Fedorov,

Next we will use the ribbon workbench to check whether the New button is hidden.

This is the download site for ribbon workbench: http://www.develop1.net/public/rwb/ribbonworkbench.aspx

This is the basic tutorial for ribbon workbench: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/develop1/posts/mastering-ribbon-workbench-2016

After adding the connection entity to the custom solution, open it in the ribbon workbench.

Check if the New {0} button in the sub-grid is hidden.

If not, click the Custom Command on the button to check whether extra display rules and enable rules are added.

    Hi Fedorov,

Closed opportunities do not allow connections to be added.

RE: Cannot make new connections from custom connection views

    Hello,

It is regarding open opportunities. The standard view allows connections but my copy of the standard view does not.

However, your suggestion about looking at the button in Ribbon Workbench pointed me in the right direction. Thank You Lu Hao.

I made a copy of the "Create new"-button on the connections sub grid via Ribbon Workbench.

On my copy I removed the "display" rules and now my copy shows. If I put back the same "display" rules as the original button then the "Create new" does not show.

    So, solution:

    - Make copy of standard button.

    - Hide standard button

    - Remove display rules from copy.

Lucky for me all users should be able to create connections so I don't need to worry about this (yet..)
