Can you read .fdb and .fbk file without using NAV

I am trying to read the data in a .fdb and a .fbk file.  These files were provided to me by a client.  I do not have Microsoft NAV on any machines.  I do have MS SQL server express loaded on my machine.  I have tried to attach the .fdb and .fbk files in SQL server and they are not in the proper format.  Ideally I would like to convert the data into an Excel file. I just want a readable dump of the data.  Is there anyway to do this without having NAV?

 Thank you.

The fdb, fbk  are propriety/closed formats  and you cannot open them directly.

Robin, are you a NAV consultant? or independent consultant? are you engaged with Microsoft Partner company? if not, since you will dealing with NAV system, you need to team up with NAV consultant - whether independent or MS partner.

    Hi,

    1) You can't directly read .fdb & .fbk from there than Navision.

    2) For dumping data to excel you have to create SQL database with help navision and then you can play with it.

    Hi,

     I think you can!

But for that In your system NODBC or C Front must be installed, with the help of these you can create macros in excel to retrive the data from tables.
