Merchant Number

Posted on by 80

In the EDC Preferred Acquirer Configuration in RMS 2.0 , when I input the Merchant Number, then run sopos, then open soadmin the merchant number is changed to '11111111111'.  The card also gets a connection error when I try to process. The only thing I changed is the configuration from the VAR which includes different URL's but ports are the same.

From my experiences, when it has a merchant number of all ones '111111111', and you have changed the credit and debit URL strings, then there are Hooks that are installed from a third party software. Try this... (backup your windows registry settings)

    From the windows Registry

    (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\Hooks\000)

Change the HookType and Parameter to 0 (zero)

Also look at the rest of the Hooks folders in the registry to see if they need to be changed to Zeros as well.

Try your new credit card EDC settings again.

I am entering it as admin, and it does not change until after I have tried to tender credit in SOPOS. I even manually entered the number in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\Merchant) and it changes from the required 12 digit number I entered to 11 digits all 1's.

The first thing I would check is the following:

After updating the EDC properties in Store Administrator, click the OK button to save your changes.

Immediately go back into the EDC properties in Store Administrator and see if your settings were saved. If they were not saved and are immediately changing back to the '111111111', then this would be a problem with the Windows User not having the correct security to modify the Windows Registry settings.
