SolutionPackager error while extracting solution

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 35

Hi,

I am trying to extract the default solution using SoluitonPackager and it gives me the error:

"Cannot find child element filename of element Report".

The command I am giving to extract is: SolutionPackager /action:Extract /zipfile:Production\Default_1_0.zip /folder:Production\Solution

I am not sure how to troubleshoot this error as I could not find much help on any of the forums.

Thanks in advance,

Vidhi

    it looks it is expecting <filename> tag in <report> tag .. a guess.. add it in customization.xml and verify once.

    Hi Srini,

    I had checked all the report tags of one of my other environments (for which I was able to extract the default solution) and some did not contain the <filename> tag but it extracted fine. In both the cases the report tags not having <filename> were of the below structure:

    <Report unmodified="1">

         <name>Invoice</name>

         <description>View an invoice and its line items.</description>

         <reportid></reportid>

         <reporttypecode>1</reporttypecode>

         <ReportCategories>

           <ReportCategory name="Sales Reports">1</ReportCategory>

         </ReportCategories>

         <ReportVisibilities>

           <ReportVisbility>1</ReportVisbility>

           <ReportVisbility>2</ReportVisbility>

         </ReportVisibilities>

         <ReportEntities>

           <ReportEntity>invoice</ReportEntity>

         </ReportEntities>

       </Report>

    This is why I was weary of adding it to customization file in case it corrupts the file.

    Any ideas why?

    Thanks,

    Vidhi

    you may take back up of zip file , add <filename> tag and extract and troubleshoot afterward.. As it is only for extracting, i hope it should not corrupt any files

    Hi Srini,

    That resolved the issue. Thanks.

    I would like to add that I have added the <filename> tags to only those reports where there was no unmodified = "1" attribute.
