I'm trying to add feilds on to a template. I went to word, enabled the developer tab, but there was no Dynamics GP icon on there. Did I do something wrong, or is there something else I need to install?

I have not found a copy of the Word Add-In available as a seperate download.
I believe you can download the GP install media through CustomerSource but I would guess that the IT team or your GP partner may already have a copy saved on the network somewhere.

As Frank mentioned, the option for this is on the GP install media. Once launched, you'll come to a window where this can be selected. The install from that point is pretty straightforward.
Okay so how do I go about specifically installing the Add-In? I was told that it DID install automatically, so I didn't bother lookingfor a certain file that said "Word Add-In". Also, if any senior members or admins see this you should, if you haven't already, make a sticky thread full of possible solutions to common problems with Dynamics and such.
I've also had some issues where even after the Word Add-In is installed that I had to reboot the machine for the Dynamics banner to show up on the Developer tab.
You can still print the forms without the addin, but to make the changes it needs to be installed. It isn't installed by default.

I'm only using one laptop to make these templates. I'm pretty sure I already have the Word Add-In installed becuase I can use and print the default word templates, and it say loading Word Add-In when I do so. Is there anything else that could be wrong?
You need to have the Word Add-In installed on each machine that will use Word to modify templates. Word Add-In is on the GP install media.
