thanks
See this post previously posted and verified answer..."Error# 3709. This was an unrelated new issue which was solved by was solved by calling Microsoft and resetting the Client Network Utility."

Is Store Operations Manager open when you are launching Store Operations POS? If so, close Store Operations Manager, then try launching Store Operations POS. I have run into situations where on some machines/installations running both at the same time is not possible (still not sure why this started happening after V.2.0).
I am recieving a message that says error 3709: Requested operationi requires an OLE DB Session object, which is not supported by the current provider.. I have used the program on this computer and have not gotten this messaged before until now.
It doesn't appear on the task manager. Only when I click to start up the program does it show but after a few seconds it completely disappears from the task manager. I've tried ending process when it does show on the task manager and then try starting up but the same thing happens and the program never opens.
Hi, I try opening my store pos and it shows on the task manager that it is running and then it just closes. Nothing opens at all. Please help.
Click Ctrl+Alt+Del on the keyboard to launch the task manager; On the Processes Tab, look for the SOPOS.exe process; highlight and 'End Task'.
Try launching RMS Store Operations again.
Is there another way to approach that if the program is not even appearing on the task bar?
While the SO program is running in the task bar (may have to click on it to make sure it's active) using your keyboard, click Ctrl +F6 to open the display properties window for SO. If it doesn't appear, click the program on the task bar again - it must be active.
In the display properties window, select the transaction scree tab, modify the numbers for height, width, etc to match the resolution settings of the monitor. Usually, you will see large negative numbers - remove these.
Click OK, then Okay again. The SO window should appear. Repeat all steps until the display is the correct size.
This generally happens when another program or website overwrites the display settings.
If there is POS shortcut in the taskbar on the desktop, it means POS is running but screen is invisible due to minimized settings. Click the POS shortcut and press Ctrl-F6 for Display Properties. Then follow prior instructions to reset screen settings.
If there is no POS shortcut in the taskbar, run Store Operations Manager, Database, Registers, Register List, select the problem register, Properties, and temporarily disable any OPOS drivers such as Receipt Printer 1, PIN pad, pole display, etc. Now try POS. If it opens the problem is one or more of the OPOS drivers needs to be reinstalled. You may also need repair or reinstall RMS.
Im sorry, where exactly do I go to do ctrl f6. The pos won't open at all for me to do that.
