Why is MRP giving the Transfer signal before purchase signal?

Hello,

Why is MRP giving the Transfer signal before purchase signal? The MRP is telling us to transfer 10 units to our 2nd warehouse before buying 10 new units. We dont have any inventory in stock in our warehouse, how does MRP telling us to transfer something without an inventory? The purchase signal is also be recommend for a month late to fulfill that transfer.

Hello,

Are you using Stockkeeping Units? What is the Replenishment Policy for the SKU? It could be set to Transfer for 2nd Warehouse, which is fulfilled from main Warehouse. You should check this setup.

Not sure what is your setup, scenario and actual inventory regarding this. Hard to make recommendation without complete scenario steps. Regarding transfer created previous to purchase order, this looks strange, I did not experience this recently.

Regarding the purchase signal in the past, maybe this is due to the fact that planning is highlighting that to be on time, you would have need to create the purchase in the past. Up to the planner to change this as the proposed line may have accept action message = FALSE, so meaning planner needs to handle this one.

This is sometimes happening to highlight that we may reconsider item setup if we are too late to replenish.
