Adding more fields to Item template

Hi All

Has anyone added more fields to the item template so when creating new items more fields are automatically added? Is there a font end method or should we customise using an extension? The table shows as Item Templ. (1382)

Hello Samantha - To add more fields to the Item Template, please follow these steps:

Open the Item Template and click the Gear icon on the top right corner of the window.

Select Personalize

Click the + Field button and you will see a list of available fields to choose from.

Drag and drop the fields that you want onto the Item Template.

Hi, In short, this requires two steps.

1. Extend "Table 1382 Item Templ." and "Page 1384 Item Templ. Card" to add the field

2. Subscribe to "Codeunit 1336 Item Templ. Mgt." -> "OnApplyTemplateOnBeforeItemModify" and add your logic.

Following with interest.

We have just moved to BC from NAV17 where we used configuration templates extensively. We have over 60 templates each of which completes standard fields as well as bespoke fields (many). I see no way to add these bespoke fields to the new item template table/page.
