Difference Between "ID" and "System ID" on Sales Invoice Header

Hi,
A client asked me the difference between the System ID and ID field in the Posted Sales Invoice Header.

The ID is always "Blank".

I'm assuming the System ID is Business Centrals ID and the ID field is related to the Database ID.

Question: What is the difference between the two field? How can I populate the ID field to get values from an API?

AFAIK, ID field was introduced for APIs/integration GUIDs in some tables but later on, MS implemented platform level field System ID which is available for all tables.

    Update:

The ID Field seems to be obsolete. It was replaced by the SystemID.

    Hi,

the Field System-ID is - along with other System fields like Created at - part of any table by default without the need for development.

The System-ID gets populated in the OnInsert-Trigger of a table.

The ID field on the other hand might be specific to a certain use case like syncing with CRM.

The table Payment Terms (3) has this Field as well i believe.
