Smartlist Error - Explorer_Get_DDL_Type not found

Posted on by 22,647

When opening Smartlist we encounter no issues, I have run GRANT.sql on all company databases as well as DYNAMICS.mdb

When I open Smartlist >> Project Accounting >> PA Contracts and select the default list - the data is cleanly presented.  When I then click the Search button on the bottom of the screen and enter 1 or more Search Definitions, and click on OK - I get the following:

Unhandled script exception:

Script 'Explorer_Get_DDL_Type' not found

Exception_CLASS_SCRIPT_MISSING

When I test this on Smartlist >> Project Acounting >> Pa Billing Open Transactions - click on Default, add a search definition, I get the new filtered data - no error.

So I am thinking it is something specific with the PA Contracts tables that are accessed in the PA Contracts Smartlist window.

I looked at Dynamics..ASIEXP81 and Dynamics..ASIEXP86 and did not find anything that made me go - got it - so I am reaching out to you my partners to see what we can figure out for this client.

In the mean time, I have to tell the client to 'not filter your 100,000 records to find what you need, all the while he is laughing out loud and smiling - not so warmly at me.

Help.

We are in the process of upgrading to GP2015R2 and are also experiencing the issue; however, in our GP2015R1, we do not have this issue.  Additional error message I would like to capture in this thread is ASI_Explorer ASI_ExplorerTreeView_CHG on form ASI_Explorer 'ASI_Create_Search_Text_From_Table of form ASI_Advanced_Search', "PA Cost Categories", "", "", table 'ASI_Explorer_Favorites', 1, "".  The wildcard/asterisks query works without erring, but a query which uses a parameter that has a drop down list of selections errs.  Has anyone else found a resolution for this?

We're on GP2015R2 and are seeing the same issue.  Has the bug still not been addressed?  Can anyone confirm that it's being tracked and scheduled to be fixed?

Using Gary's suggestion for a client without SLB, I clicked "New" and used SmartList Designer to create new objects for PA Contracts and PA Projects by removing the "PA Status" and "Status" fields from the "selected fields" list and linked in the respective fields from "Views>>Company>>PA Projects" to replace them.

The only change is if searching on those fields the user will have to enter the value rather than using a drop-down list.

The following worked for our customer who had just upgraded to GP 2013 R2. They were seeing this error with all the SmartLists under PA Projects.

    1. Select the Smartlist folder PA Projects
    2. Click the Modify button. This customer has Smartlist Builder, so the SLB window opens.
    3. Give it a new SmartList Name and a new Item Name.
    4. Click Save.

Even when I change the names back to the original names, the lists appear to run properly with no error message. You may have to re-save individual SmartLists if you are not getting the results you expect; enter the search criteria again and click Modify.

    Thanks,
    GCL

    Hi all,

Just to update this thread issue is not fixed in GP 2015 RTM as well. The workaround option can be to export the default results to Excel and use the filters you need there itself.

    Hope this helps.

Has anyone found out if this is fixed yet?  Here we are many months later I'm looking at a 12.00.1745 installation that has this same exact problem.  My search on PartnerSource comes up with nothing.  Very frustrating.

This issue is not isolated to the project status field or upgrades as we have seen the issue in a new GP2013 SP2 installation.  It appears to affect all Drop Down List type search criteria within the Project Accounting SmartLists.

For example when running a SmartList on PA Cost Categories and applying a search criteria of Profit Type - TM  is equal to Profit/Unit-Fixed - we get the following error when clicking OK to accept the search criteria.

    Unhandled script exception:

    Script 'Explorer_Get_DDL_Type' not found.

    EXCEPTION_CLASS_SCRIPT_MISSING

    SCRIPT_CMD_CALL

these are so many status fields in different smartlist, question is what smartlist you are using?
