I have been advised to upgrade this product. I have downloaded the file but I would like to know the process. Should I run this exe file on the DB server first? Do I have to run the GP Utility? Does it need any database update? Do I have to run this exe file on each workstation? Do I need to run GP Utility on each workstation? These are the questions I have, please help me to understand the process.

First, backup your database and workstation. After that, I would upgrade the SQL server first. You will need to then run GP utilities. And, yes, you need to run this on each workstation. You might want to get your partner involved if this is your first upgrade. I expect everything will go fine, but it doesn't hurt to have some help available.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi

If you have a Dynamics GP client installed on your SQL server then do the upgrade work from there, if not you can do it from a workstation.

Make sure that you have the new reg keys for Encore Reconciler before starting.

You first need to have your Dynamics GP upgraded. Make a backup before starting the Encore Reconciler upgrade.

Once that is done, install the Encore Reconciler code by right clicking on the install file and running as administrator.

Next, Launch Dynamics GP. Be sure to right click and run as administrator. When prompted to include new code, select YES.

The Encore registration is found at: Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > System > Encore Product Registration

Once you have the new keys entered, go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > Maintenance > Encore Reconciler > File Maintenance.

Select the  box next to Create/Update Tables and click on Process
