Using Alternate Resource costs for a project task

When creating tasks in a job card, I go into the planning lines and create a line assigned to a resource.  This pulls the cost and sales price based on the resource card.  I have created alternate prices based on the role the resource plays.  Example:  The person will have a cost of $70/hr, but we might bill the resource at $150/hr if he is working as a tech and $165 if he is working as a Business Analyst.  The system allows you to enter these alternatives, but I don't see any way to chose those alternate prices other than keying over the price to override the resource card price.  This defeats the purpose of having those alternate role  pricing entries setup.  What am I missing?

    Hello tnohelty,

Thank you for the questions about the Work Type alternate prices on the Resources. I was able to add the Work Type Code column to the Job Planning Lines. When I choose a Resource and then fill in the Work Type Code, the Unit Price does default with the value that I had entered for that Resource and Work Type Code in the Resource Prices page. Will the prices default in for you if you add the Work Type Code column to your Job Planning Lines page, and select a value for that column?

Thanks for the reply.  I think that adding the Work Type column would likely do the trick.  How do you add the column to the form?  I don't see a way to do that.

Right click one of the column headers and then select 'Choose Columns...'.

    Thanks,

    Chris
