Account numbers missing from reports

There must be something I missed or messed up in the company set up, but in a new GP company I've ramped up most of the Account values are missing from reports such as "General Transaction Edit List" and "General Posting Journal".  A few of the values show up in the Account column, but most don't.  I don't see a pattern.  Everything appears to work functionally.  The entries even posted without error.  There must be someone out there who has seen this behavior.  Please help!

    Hi Mahmoud,

I'm with you as a first course if recreating the dictionary doesn't work. At least you know you have exactly the same code running on each dictionary. Often, it works.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Try to recreate the reports.dic file.  Export the package, get all users out of GP, and then go in and import the package.   I, personally, am a bigger fan of the 'old fashioned' method of renaming, going into report writer and importing them into the new one.

Exporting would make no sense in this case. Have you tried check links on this new company on the account master tables? When you run Smartlist on Accounts do you see all the accounts? Do these accounts contain only numbers or do they have letters mixed in?

In case the new company has the same design and structure of other companies, such as account segments,  you could try copying the whole "GP Folder" from other functional companies.

rename the old folder as "GP_BK" for back up reasons. Take into consideration that you need to have all GP Users logged out.

I do not have modified versions of the reports.  The reports work in other companies.  The account structure is setup and identical to other companies whose reports work.  The accounts appear fine in SmartLists.  Given this, would you still recommend exporting and reimporting reports?

Do you have modified versions of these reports? I would try exporting all your reports out to a package file, exit GP, rename your reports.dic  file, launch GP and then import that package file back in. Do these reports work in the other companies? Did you go into Tools->Setup->Compnay->Account Format and set the account structure? Do all the accounts appear fine in SmartLists?
