Hi All,
I have created a new entity called Offices.
I have created a quick view connection/relationship between Account and Offices.
I would like to be able to see the related office when looking at the account from a system view.
I have added the correct columns but any accounts with an attached office these fields are showing as blank.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Jenn

Brill! Thanks so much for your help this has been a lifesaver :-)
Hi Jenn,
Please check if the column name in the view is the same as the lookup field name in the form.
Note that it is name instead of column title and display name.
If there are multiple N:1 relationships (multiple lookup fields), then it is possible that the two values are different.
Ok. I have added an Office look up as i already had a 1:N (Parent) and N:1 (regarding) relationship set up.
However, once I enter an office in the lookup. My quick view from with related office entity doesn't show anything.
Hi Jenn,
The relationship between screenshot 1 and screenshot 2 is different, so you can't see Office in the account view.
1. First screenshot
To add an Office sub-grid to the Account form, the relationship between Account and Office must be 1:N or N:N. In other words, all records of the Office subgrid are child records of Account.
2. Second screenshot
If you want to display the Office lookup field in the Account view, then the relationship between Account and Office must be N:1. In other words, the record of the Office lookup is the parent record of Account.
So, if you want to display the value of Office in the Account view, you need to add an Office lookup field in the Account form instead of a subgrid.
In addition, the name of the lookup field in the form and the name of the lookup field in the view must be the same.
For example, there is a Account lookup field on the Opportunity form. The relationship between Opportunity and Account is N:1. So we can see Account on the Opportunity view.
See attached Account with related office and then the system view with blank fields, where I would expect to see the same content.
Hi Jenn,
Could you provide screenshots of the connection/relationship properties?
If you set an N:1 relationship between Account and Office, you should see its parent entity - Offices as a column in the Account view.
