Dynamics AX demo VM - AX2012R3A_Data and AX2012R3A_OS

I am new to Dynamics community and also to the Dynamics software itself. So if the question appears too minor, please bare with me.

I downloaded the demo VM software and ran the exe so that it created two AX2012R3A_Data and AX2012R3A_OS vhd files. Since we use VMWare for resources, I converted these VHDs to suitable format and then created a machine using AX2012R3A_OS file. It created a Windows2012R2 server and I am able to login.

My question is what should I do with AX2012R3A_Data file? Should I use this to create another machine? or should it be used to create hard drive in first machine? Any help or pointers would really help me in making this machine up and running.

it should be attached as another hard drive on the same machine. this hard drive contain the AX databases.

Thank you Ahmed for your reply. I was able to do the same. I also understood that it has be attached as E drive in particular. Thank you for the quick reply and it certainly helped in setting the VM.

A follow-up question though... in the Demo VM, I see a mapped network drive (retailproductcatalog (\\ax2012r2a:50001\sites) W:) is not connected. do you think I am missing something here?

AX2012R3A_Data

After createing VM and configuring the VM to AX2012R3A_OS (which will not have ax db); then go to Hyper-V/<VM>/Settings/ and follow above attached screen of adding Hard drive.
