Cash Flow Statement: "Provided By" Versus "Used From"

Hi:

In a Statement of Cash Flows, you generally use the phrase "Provided By" when the figure is positive but "Used From" when negative.

But, does Management Reporter provide the means to make that distinction, when composing the statement's Row Definition?

Thanks!

John

    Hello John, great question!

I don’t believe we have ever had a request to change the phrasing (row description) based on a positive or negative balance. MR allows you to type any description you want into the Description cell of each row. MR will then display that description when the report is generated. There isn’t a way to have that description change based on the sign of the balance. If you want to see the most common way people set up a Statement of Cash Flows with MR, look at row definition for the demo report called “Cash Flow – Default”. If you don’t currently have the demo reports in MR, you can import them by clicking Tools -> Import Default Reports.

Let us know if you have any further questions, always happy to help!

    Warm Regards,

    Deseree
