Can't open files because it doesn't see a browser

Hi,

colleague of my cannot open her files in Business Central and has the pop-up that she doesnt have a browser set.

She updated to Windows 11 and i suspect it has something to do with that because other colleagues don't have this problem with Windows 10.

We tried the selecting a default browser in the regedit and it didnt work.

I hope someone can help me out with this problem

I have the same question (0)

What file types are causing the issue and where does she try to open them from? Is it attachments in BC ?

they are attached in BC and the files are Word, Excel and pdfs

Are you using the new "open in one-drive" feature or are the files downloaded locally before they are opened?

If you use the open in one-drive then the user needs to connect to one-drive in "my settings".

    Hello,

Is this colleague using an older release of Business Central / older cumulative update. Your colleague may want to try this on his Windows 11 device:

Start regedit and add this value: IEXPLORE.EXE.

If you run an export, the reg key export file should show the following values:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet]

    @="IEXPLORE.EXE"

It is very important to look directly to the entry StartMenuInternet only and not to the child IEXPLORE entry. You need to make sure that the StartMenuInternet Key has the Default value IEXPLORE.EXE.

    Hope it helps.

    Hello,

Can you ask the user to generate an export of that key plus contents and posts the contents here (the .reg file can be opened via notepad).

    Thanks.
