I am having an issue where 1 customer's data has been copied to more than 32500 other customer's Customer.ID's. The Journal still has the correct name/address listed on the receipt, but unfortunately the customer properties lists the incorrect data for name, account number, and many other fields.
This is the second time this has happened. The first time we just restored back to our previous day backup and adjusted our accounting software accordingly and hoped that it was something that was inadvertently corrected by the RMS updates.
For example, I should have just one account with the accountnumber 'MIDWAY', however, 32K customers now have that same accountnumber. All of these customers still retain purchase history and the receipts still contain the correct customer information.
We are running 2.0.0127 of Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Manager/POS/Administrator on WinXP SP3 systems. We also run Headquarters Manager/Administrator on XP sp3 with HQ Client and HQ server on Windows Server 2008.
Why is this customer replicating? How do I prevent it from happening again? And is it possible to correct the data using the information in the journal receipts?

I have same issue too...
Can anyone answer this question?
This sounds like a big issue, but not one I have ever heard of. Is there some 3rd party customization or database trigger that could be adversely affecting the data?
