Can multiple SOP transactions have the same master number for different customers?

One of our customers pointed out that there are two quotes for two different customers with the same master number. This same master numbers exists for Customer A. Customer A has a Quote,order, invoice and a return. Customer B has quote that shares the same master number with Customer A and Customer's A transactions. Is that correct, or could this be a glitch?

This is a known issue documented in knowledge base article 856311 Multiple customers have documents that reference the same master number in Sales Order Processing in Microsoft Dynamics GP

I usually consider the solution proposed by MVP Mariano Gomez Using T-SQL and recursive CTE to find related sales documents

Remember, back up is a must.

Hi Shelly,

Is this quote number of two customers is happened on the same fiscal period or different years. That will be the only time this might happen since GP wont allow duplicates quote numbers
