I believe you can only export SmartList views to Excel, but what about other standard reports, i.e. HATB? Thanks!

When you are in the destination window for that specific report you have the option to send it to a file in the following formats: text file, tab-delimited file and comma-delimited file.

You can modify reports to make them suitable for exporting to Excel.  For example, Remove all unnecessary report headers & footers, page headers and footers.  Leave one header line containing the field headers.  Move the fields in the report body so that there is one line per record.  The report can then be exported to a CSV file.  When opened in Excel you will get a table with one line per record.

No it is not possible to export standard GP reports to excel. You can export the customized report to excel. In the report destination window you can choose the file check box and select the file location to save and choose the file type as comma delimited  then choose the file format as a comma delimited.

Any report can be printed to a file and opened in Excel.  However, in most cases the formatting is not sufficient for a clean import.  Several suggestions have already been given and I won't repeat the good notes.  Just know that SmartList is easier and custom reports are second in terms of importing.

I have the same frustration.  Smart list doesn't give the correct information without having to take hours searching.

May be you print to the file and then save it as comma delimited. Then you open with excel. you will have to do some editing.

This is a very old post - 2013 - and a great deal has changed within the Application.  So where above many of the answers may have been yes, today there are a large number of reports that are capable of printing directly from the application.

As well there is a full suite of pre-defined reports that are created and installed with Microsoft

In GP2016 simply look at the Administration Home Page >> Setup >> Reporting Tool Setup - from there check out the Excel Reports Tab and see all the report options that are available to all users in the system.

    Hope this helps.
