Hi Guys,

In ER, I need to work with new template on Word document as per the customer requirement. I am not much familiar with this.

Could you please let me know how I can initiate to start to print the ER report in word format.

To get started with generating an Electronic Reporting (ER) report in Word format in Dynamics 365, follow these steps:

Design the Template

Open Microsoft Word and design the layout of your report as per the customer’s requirements.

Add placeholders for the data fields you want to populate dynamically. These placeholders will later be mapped to the ER data model.

Configure the ER format

Go to Organization Administration > Electronic Reporting > Configurations.

Create a new ER Format Configuration and select Word as the format type.

Attach the Word template you designed to the ER Format Configuration.

Map Data Sources

Use the ER Format Designer to map the data fields in your Word template to the appropriate data sources in the ER data model.

Ensure all required fields are bound to the correct data elements.

Test the report

Run the ER configuration to generate a sample report.

Verify that the data is correctly populated in the Word document and that the layout matches your expectations.

Set up destinations (optional)

Configure ER Destinations to specify where the generated Word report should be sent (e.g., email, file storage, or download).

There is also one explicity for Word Business Documents – Part 4 (Customize Word Template) – DynFOTech.

Hey,

Something that is also quite helpful is the following video. It explaines quite a lot and gives you an example you can do by yourself in order to get familiar with it. I used it when I was starting with ER.
