Getting always pack location on BOM Journal line.

Hello folks,

Recently i am having one issue where i am getting “Pack”Location on the BOM journal lines for some of the items when i create the BOM journal from Reported as Finished. I dont know how system is prioritising the pack location for several items in BOM journal lines not for the master item which is to be prepared but the sub lines. Even though i am having inventory available in X1 location on the BOM line i am getting Pack location.

ex:

Site | warehouse | location | inventory available
NY. SX1. Pack. 150

NY. SX1. X1. 150

why on the BOM Journal lines i am getting Pack location when the BOM journal is created after Reported as finished. Is there any standard way why system is prioritising this pack location ?

note: manually creating a BOM journal validates the location so its working correctly as i am keeping location manually for each line problem comes while doing reported as finished.

Hi harshil9898,

In case you are using backflushing for creating the BOM journal lines, the application will search for available inventory for the given Site and Warehouse om the BOM line, in case the location was not provided. It might be just a matter of the name of the location or the order of creating an inventory dimension combination using the locations.

If you have one fixed location for the raw material, you can consider entering that one on the BOM lines.
