How to resolve this issue

Posted on by Microsoft Employee
Hello.

We are getting some SQL errors when accessing the BoM Entry and BoM View
windows in GP2010 -

4 pop-up windows, in this order:
1/ An error occurred executing the SQL Statements.
2/ GPS Error: 54
3/ SQL Error: 515
4/ ODBC Error: 23000

Any suggestions on how to resolve would be helpful.

Thank you,
Aissam.

Re: How to resolve this issue

Let's clarify. Are we speaking of Manufacturing BOM's or Inventory BOM's.

Great Plains actually has 2 different and distinct Bill of Material Functionality. BOM entry for manufacturing is entered under Cards > Manufacturing > Bill of Material Entry

Great Plains Inventory Bills of Materials are entered under Cards > Inventory > Bills of Materials.

Neither Integration Manager or eConnect can be used for mfg BOM integration. A standard 2 table import process is used. I have done many of these and there are tricky to complete.

    Aissam - a couple of questions -

    1. You stated - I just migrate from GP9 to GP2010 - does this mean everything worked in GP9 and therefore, this issue is upgrade specific?

    2. Did you manually try to create a new Bill of Material and if so, what was result?

    3. Are you using mfg BOM or Inventory BOM?

Please advise and I'd be happy to assist if time permits

    Bron,

Can we integrate BOM using eConnect or Integration Manager ? I didn't found any schema for BOM.

Aissam - Did you imported BOM using custom application interface ?

    Thanks

Re: How to resolve this issue

Usually these errors occur if the Bills of Material have been improperly imported into the system.

I would suggest you try to manually create a new Bill of Material and see if any errors occur. Try to rule out the system and see if the problem is data related.
