Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well.

Can any one help me to know how we can extract the GL dump for all Legel Entities together. Even though it will take so much time but we are required to do the same.

What excatly we require is Opening, Current and Closing balances of all Accounts from all the legel entities together. There are more then 30 legel entities in current system.

EDIT 1: Can we customize the GL - Voucher Transaction (Form) for cross company. If Yes, pease help me with the methods I need to modify.

Please let me know if we can use something from standard application Or any reference link if we have to create new report for the same.

Hello,

As far as I know there is no standard way to get this info from D365 cloud service. If you are uisng the on premises version you can always query the AXDB to get this data.

For the cloud version, I have achieved something similar using the GeneralLedgerActivities data entity, combined with the mainaccounts, ledgers, fiscal calendars, dimensioncombinations entity ,and then building a data model in PowerBI to get the information. It is not a perfect solutions, refreshing the data could take some time but it will get you all the GL balances for all legal entities.

Forgot to mention that you could also get the balances amounts using Financial reporting. Also you will get the balances and not the individual line transactions using the data entity method I suggested.

Hi Piyush004,

It will be recommended to use BYOD or Data Lake to export the data with change tracking. In that case, you will first have an initial load and thereafter only the changes.

Hi,

Please navigate to General Ledger > Inquires and Reports > Voucher Transaction > Add filter Company ID and In drop down you will get all legal entities which will help you to generate all the transactions related to select legal entities

Thank you for the answers. You are right ! We could use Queries to get data from DB but only if were using OnPremise version.

But today I just got confirmed that we need to create a new report and have to extract individual line transactions for all legel entities.

Thanks for looking into my concern.

The answer you suggested seems to be out of my scope as I don't have such experience with these concepts.

Can you please suggest me achieving my goal using services like SSRS, so I can create a new report for the same??

if you cannot use power bi tools then your alternative option is the financial reporter that is especially made for those cross company assessments of accounting entries.
