SendEmailFromTemplate - Power Automate error

Hello,

I have created a power automate cloud flow that should send email using "SendEmailFromTemplate" by performing an unbound action by following exactly the below blog post:

After implementing the steps and doing the testing, the flow is failing with a very strange error code as below:

pastedimage1672331842203v1.png[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/761/TestEmailTemplate_5F00_20221229163146.zip]workflowScreenShot.png

It does not show up exactly what is the error and the parameters passed as (Target/Regarding) are correct.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Please find attached the workflow if you would like to view each step, knowing that they are the same as the blog posts.

Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi Ebm,

In your action dataverse, in the field regarding,

You must add the plural name of the table (just add 's')

    Tables(variablename)

Please mark the answer as verified if that's resolve your problem.

    Hi EBMRay,

I test your flow in my environment, it can run successfully.

For the last action of the flow, i just change templateid and Regarding, maybe you can check them:

    (1)Try to use another template.

    (2)Regarding field:

    The syntax needed is ‘publisherprefix_pluralentityname(lookupfieldvalue)’

    Check custom entity name format.

    Use correct guid value .

    Note:

The custom entity should be enabled for activity.

    Hello Leah Ju ,

After further investigation, the problem was not from the regarding or the templateid it was from the user connection on the perform an unbound action as it seems it was missing a certain privilege because when I switched up to a global admin user it worked perfectly.

Do you have any idea what is the required privilege to allow the user to perform an unbound action?

    Best regards,

    EBMRay

    Hi,

    Privileges and Access Rights

To perform this action, the caller must have privileges on the Email entity and access rights on the records specified in the Target, RegardingId and TemplateId properties. For a complete list of the privileges required, see SendEmailFromTemplate message privileges.
