Service Packs combine all Hot-fixes since the last SP.
Feature Packs are enhancements to the program and _usually_ include Hot-fixes since the last SP.
Feature Pack 2 was released last week.. To read more about it, click on the Blog at the top of this page.

Thank you for your question about the benefits of Service Packs. As Jeff mentioned Service Packs combine all the Hot Fixes since the last Service Pack. Feature Packs add features to the application in addition to the Hot Fixes and Services Packs earlier than the Feature Pack.
I have included the link to the update page, you can view all the updates and review what each update provides. I recommend going to Service Pack 4 because of PCI compliance. Any updates after Service Pack 4 you can install at your own discretion.
