CRM Add-in for Outlook makes Outlook stop working

Hi everyone,

Lately, all my colleagues are complaining that the CRM add-in for Outlook actually makes Outlook stop working. Some of them have already removed the add-in, because they lose too much time when working with the add-in.

Does anyone understand why this is happening and, more importantly, how to prevent it?

    Which version of crm you are using ? Does your IT upgraded from 2016 to Dynamics 365?

    Hi Anneke,

    You could try to use the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (https://diagnostics.outlook.com/#/Download?env=Prod&referralSite=CRMOCPub )to diagnose and fix the issue. You’ll need to sign in to the diagnostics tool with your Dynamics 365 (online) credentials.

    OK, please reproduce the issue and check the log files for any errors - Maybe that might give you a hint of what's causing the behavior.

    Additionally, can you please try disabling all 3rd party Outlook add-ins? Does that make any difference ?

    Hi Anneke,

    If you have installed the CRM for Outlook Client, then you can follow the steps from the above KB on the machine where you have Outlook installed.

    The above KB does not relate to the CRM Server.

    Hi Radu,

    * Exchange Cached Mode is enabled, yes.

    * We have CRM Online, so I cannot use that manual you sent. I'm not sure where to check for CRM Online.

    Could you please provide some details on the build of your Outlook and the CRM for Outlook Add-in?

    Is Exchange Cached Mode enabled? (support.office.com/.../Turn-on-Cached-Exchange-Mode-7885af08-9a60-4ec3-850a-e221c1ed0c1c)

    Also, if you enable Client Side Tracing, do you see any errors? support.microsoft.com/.../how-to-enable-tracing-for-the-microsoft-dynamics-crm-for-outlook-clien
