Hi,

Please can someone point me in the direction of the steps involved to install a fresh copy of CRM2015 on a new server but to bring across a copy of the CRM database (along with any package files) to the new server.

Thanks,

RE: Moving Dynamics CRM 2015 from one server to another
    Hi,
    Please follow the steps below:

New CRM Server with new SQL server
    1. take a backup of the source database i.e. <orgname>_MSCRM
    2. Install MSCRM 2015 in a new server which will automatically create config database and <baseorg>_MSCRM database in the new SQL instance.
    3. Restore the backup database from the source.

New CRM installation with same SQL instance
    1. take a backup of the source database i.e. <orgname>_MSCRM to be on a safer side.
    2. Delete Config database i.e. MSCRM_Config
    3. Install MSCRM 2015 in a new server which will automatically create config database.

In both the cases, follow the below link to import organization in CRM:

RE: Moving Dynamics CRM 2015 from one server to another

    Hi,

You can move the CRM2015 from one server to another using the below steps:

    1. First of all, Download CRM installation files using link(https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=45012) and install the CRM2015 on a new fresh server. You can refer this link to install CRM(https://butenko.pro/2019/01/09/d365ce_90_step_by_step_installation/)

    2. After installing CRM2015, you need to install another setup file on SQL server machine which used to work reports in the CRM. The name of this setup is SetupSrsDataConnector and it is present in the same CRM installation files in a folder named “SrsDataConnector”.

    3. Now, Export the CRM2015 database from the old CRM2015 organization. For example, if your organization name is XYZ then you can see database file name as XYZ_MSCRM in SQL.

    4. Import the exported “XYZ_MSCRM” database into new server’s SQL server.

    5. And finally, Import this XYZ_MSCRM database in new CRM2015 using Deployment manager. In Deployment manager you will see an option ‘Import Organization’ on the top right side. Click on it to import the database.

    6. Once the process is completed, you can use the new CRM2015 as same as your old organization.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!
