Single user unable to load Case form???

(0) ShareShare

We are using Dynamics 2016 OnPrem, with the latest updates.

I have a single user who is suddenly unable to open Cases in CRM. When she attempts to open a case, it just spins.

I had another user do a "Run-As" on her machine, and that user had no issues opening cases. And we also had our "problem user" do a "Run-As" on another machine, and she still had the same issue.

So it appears that it is something with her user profile. Has anyone seen anything similar? Any ideas to get around this?

The error in the application log in CRM:

I can also add, that when this problem user does attempt to open a case, the IIS Worker Process on the CRM server hit 99% CPU usage. The CRM server is spinning on something, but nothing is actually happening.

This need more analysis. You need to segregate the things. Can she open new create form? Or it just happened on existing data? If you have customization on the form on load, can you disabled it first to check weather she can open or not the form.

The last thing is if you point out that this happened only for this user, do this case entity using feature that can make POA table bigger (like sharing entity)? If yes, then you can check your POA table and optimize it and see it will work or not.

    Thanks for the suggestions, Temmy.

The user was unable to open any type case form. We used direct links to the various forms we had set up. I also monitored traffic getting sent out, and every time it was getting hung up on loading the form layout. At that time, the CRM server had its CPU usage spike, and everyone else was impacted.

Rebooting her machine did nothing to fix the issue.

The fix for us, was rebooting the CRM front-end server. We did that overnight, and the next morning she was again able to access the Case forms without any issues.

    Hi,

I have the same issue. On custom entity for me.

ISS Worker Process go to 99%, and form is blocked.

If I try with an other user, it works.

    We are on 8.2.1.342 on-premises.

Someone know why this is happened ?

    Regards,

    Sebastien

We have been running Dynamics since CRM 4.0. We have never seen this error before, and it only happened with this one individual.

I never did find out a root-cause of why this happened. Rebooting our CRM WFE servers fixed the issue. If it started happening with any regular occurrence, I'd look into it further. But since it was just this one incident, it's not worth the research for us.
