Submit data to an external application after the click event

I am new to CRM development, I want to execute some code after clicking on a button placed on one of the CRM forms such as  ‘Account’  the code will parse the values of the fields within that form and submit these data to an external database.
Is that something doable in CRM? Would the plug-in be used for such scenario?
is there any sample code i can look at it?
Really appreciated any help

    HI Alaa,

Yes - you can do this and there are a few different ways.

One method is to use a plugin.  The plugin can execute and run any compiled code.

Alternatively you could do it in javascript and pass the data via soap web service call.

Take a look at teh SDK as it has many examples and good documentation.
