Dear All,

I have a Moving Average Item. May I know how can the Value Open in the Inventory Transaction changed from Yes to No?

    Hi Lyka,

I tried different ways to set the 'Value open' field to 'No' on an inventory transaction for an item which has the Moving average inventory model.

    • Inventory close doesn't do it, because these Moving average items are ignored by that process.
    • I attempted what I hoped would be a 'non-financial' transfer, but that didn't do it either.

I was about to give up, when I checked the data in a system which has many transactions for 'Moving average' items, and I found one scenario where 'Value open' does get set to 'No'...

If you use the functionality to Cancel a Packing slip, AX seems to financially update the issue transaction and then create a financially updated receipt transaction to reverse it. Both of these inventory transactions have 'Value open' set to 'No'. The same applies when a Product receipt is cancelled, and from the data I am looking at, it seems it is even possible to do the same with an item consumed on a production picking list journal.
