I want to rename a company from "My Company" to a real name. I get an error message telling me that at least one user needs the permission role SUPER for all companies. However there is only one user in our company at the moment and that's me. I also double checked the permissions and I do have the role SUPER without any company name (meaning I have the SUPER role for all companies. Why is does not work then?
I think their is a bug in the system, work around, copy the company, and their give it the name you want.
And then you get a new error, taht the copy went fail, also a bug, but it will work
Search for Company Information and click on the link that pops up , you shall be able to change the name then.
Hello,
Best would be to rename the company while working in / working from another company or create another user in the My Company company that does also have SUPER permission set assigned and then try it from there while being logged on with one of the users that does not have a company name assigned in the Users page.
Thanks.
Does not work! Tried it from another company. Started rename and after a very long time it responded an error "at least one user needs the permission role SUPER for all companies"...
Hi,
It does work for me, do you have multiple users that have not been assigned a company name on their user page and are super as well? The Copy Company workaround should work as well as suggested by another forum poster.
Thanks a lot.
No, I just have ONE SINGLE user! I have seen the copy workaround but as the very same user describes the is a bug while copying a company as well. Although I did this several times I could access the copied companies but I can also see that not every single information is copied (e.g. the setup status is wrong). So I do not want to copy and destroy my main company... I am wondering if this bug will be fixed and how I can watch the issue status.
Thank you for this. I think you do have to create another user in Office 365 and license it for Dynamics 365 BC. While logged on with your user account, you do have to synch that user to Dynamics 365 BC and give it a SUPER permissions set (without a company name set). You will then (probably) have a similar experience like I do have (succes) while you try to rename the company.
Hope this will give you the last hint you are looking for.
