How do I create a budget & variance column in FRX?

    Hi Guys,

Also have seen cases where the budget ID does not appear.

Even thought I look at older column layouts and it is there and the report prints fine with the budget figures etc, on a new column layout, it is not available...and typing it into the field doesn't work.

I found that compacting the FRX database worked...why? I don't know...but it worked!

    Best regrds,

    Ian.

    Ozle,

You SHOULD be able to see the Budget ID in FRx once the budget is setup.  However, I've seen cases where the Budget ID does not show up.  In that case, you want to rebuild the FRx GL Index (found in the Admin menu).

If that doesn't work, I've gone into the GL Budget Tables (GL00200 and GL00201) in SQL and updated the Budget ID there.  Sometimes they get out of sync for some reason.

If you encounter an issue with seeing the Budget ID in FRx, post back and we'll work through it.

    Hi Frank,

Can you confirm that once i have setup setup the Budget and assign a Budget ID, i will be able to see the Budget ID in the Book Code?

I have not yet setup any budgets, so i am not seeing any Budget ID in the Book Code.

For the budget column, insert a GL type column and select the Budget ID in the 'Book Code' field.

For the Variance column, make that column a 'Calc' type and enter the mathematical formula (i.e. C-D, where C and D are the columns upon which the formula is applied) in the 'Calc Formula' field.

    Hope this helps,
