CRM 4.0 B2C model?

Hi,

I'm looking into various CRMs for a small company which sells to individuals (not businesses), one of which being Dynamics CRM 4.0

Essentially I've hit the problem where most CRMs out there seem to only cater for business-to-business models (i.e. require you to tie leads to accounts / companies).

I've install the trial of CRM, and found that new leads require you to specify a company, so my question is this:

Is it possible to customise CRM 4 to work in a B2C model if so, how much of a job is it?

I've looked into SugarCRM, which suffers the same problem. To be honest I'd rather go with CRM 4 due to my Windows Admin background - its easier for me to learn the customisation aspects..

Thanks in advanced

Dynamics CRM is structured to allow for B2B and B2C. For example, an opportunity can belong to an account or a contact. If the lead conversion is proving problematic, you could replace it with, for example, a manual workflow which could create a new contact and opportunity, link them and close the lead. Alternatively, do not use leads and stick with contacts and create a new type of 'unqualified'. Opportunities, Quotes, Invoices and Orders can be linked to contacts as easily as accounts. I concur.  The best part is that the customizations Leon describes should only take around 15 minutes!
