Has anyone ever successfully allowed a user who wasn't in the local administrators group to be able to use the NAV administration tool? I was able to find a way to allow non-admin users to restart NAV services, but not sure if there is a way around letting them use the administration tool.
Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Raj,
I'm using a tool called Service Security Editor. It allows you to set permissions on individual services.
The user has to be local admin if we want to allow the user to restart the service using NAV Administration tool, could you let us know how you are allowing non admin users to restart the service.
Thanks

hi,
To configure Apps to Run as an Admin
technet.microsoft.com/.../ff431742.aspx
RUNASSPC

It allows you to create a short cut to the program with encrypted administrator credentials. So the program is run with administrative privileges even if started from a normal user account, but the normal user can't (easily) access the administrator credentials.
