Is it possible to use OwningTeam in a Calculated Field?

Posted on by 110

On the Account entity I want to add a new Calculated Field to show a value from the related Teams entity based on the Owner of the Account (OwningTeam).

But I cannot select the OwningTeam field in the Calculated Field formula editor.

Is there any way to use the OwningTeam lookup field in a Calculated Field?

    Hi Daniel

    Calculated fields are used for calculation purposes from current or parent entity. Also it is restricted to have Single Line of Text, Option Set, Two Options, Whole Number, Decimal Number, Currency, Date and Time data types.

    Do you have any particular requirement? could you elaborate it with more details which will help us in suggesting a better way.

    Regards

    Hi Daniel,

    I am afraid it is not possible to use OwningTeam directly in the calculated field. Here are the options i can imagine;

    1. You can create a team field and populate it by jscript, wf or plugin And, you can use the custom team field in a calculated field.
    2. You can develop a web resource and show it in there.

    Hi Daniel,

    Unfortunately, we cannot use OwningTeam lookup field in Calculated Field.

    You have to use Javascript or plugins.

    EDIT: I think the main reason is that the OwningTeam field is not searchable. And this setting cannot be changed. Is there any way to make the field searchable?
