Custom Icons are not visible in sub grid control on form

I added a subgrid control on a form and set up one column to show custom icons.

The JScript executes in the Associated View (Navigation Pane) and all good.

However, when I select the Associated View in the subgrid control the icons don't show.

I put some console.log() in the JScript and I can see that the code executes successfully without any errors.

The version I currently use is 8.2.0.795 CRM Online.

I tried FireFox, IE and Edge, they all produce the same issue.

    Hi Ahmad,

    Did you follow an approach similar to the following?

    dynamicscrmcoe.com/custom-icons-tooltip-column

    Hopefully this helps you with your issue on the custom icons...

    Thanks,

    Yes, extactly same steps.

    The only difference in my JScript is that I call a Web API query.

    But the overall steps are the same. I return an array of an icon and tooltip text.

    Hi Ahmad,

    What version are you on right now?  Has your instance been upgraded to Dynamics 365 yet?

    Did you try commenting out the Web API query to see if that is the problem for some reason?

    I want to try this and see if I have the same issue with the code from the article...

    Thanks,

    The version I'm currently using is 8.2.0.795 CRM Online but I'm not sure the organization was upgraded recently, I checked the Admin Page in Office Portal and I see no logs of recent upgrades.

    I removed the all Web API and left with this code:

    HFNZ.displayIconTooltip = function (rowData, userLCID) {

        var resultarray = ["hfnz_/img/undefined.png", "test"];
        console.log("resultarray=" + resultarray);

        return resultarray;
    }

    I see the console.log call in the F12 Developers but still no icons. When I switch between Associated View in the Navigation pane and back to the form form, I see the icons.

    Could you please try on different browsers and clear your cache? Thanks.

    I already did that.

    I used FF, IE and Edge.

    Run the fiddler and check whether Icon is downloading for the initial request.

    I ran into this same issue, opened a ticket with Microsoft, and was told that this is not a feature.  Sounds like a bug to me, but they asked me to add a new IDEA to the portal.

    Take a moment to vote this one up so we can get it fixed.

    This is so annoying. What is the point to leave this feature out of subgrids? Does anyone figured a way to get icons to subgrids?
