Restricting location on sales orders by user/ salesperson

Business Central On Prem

Client wants a user or salesperson (they have salesperson codes but no user as some of their orders come from CRM users) defined restriction on sales and purchase orders, so they cannot select certain locations.   I am not sure this can be done, has anyone have experience with this?

Thoughts:

Can I restrict locations by user?  Can I add dimensions to locations to filter them somehow? Some people need access to all locations, some only one or two.

    Sounds like you will need to do a small bit of dev here to do some validations. On each location you could navigate to a table where you define the allowed salespeople for that location.

    Then code on the sales and purchase to show and hide locations based on the salesperson code.

    Inside Business Central you can achieve this using security filters. There you can define what locations each user should have access to.

    Yes, for users I can do this, but some salespeople do not have a user, as some of the orders are integrated from CRM.

    Maybe you can define that a rules in the CRM system ?

    Assign users to responsibility centers and on the responsibility center select the desired location .
