GP 10 Memory Error

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport

Hello we have GP10 with the latest Service Pack working fine. We have one workstation that made some custom reports and we´re trying to export those to the rest of the workstations.

However, every time we try to use Tools/Personalization/Maintenance to export the reports we get a "Memory Error" message besides each report on the results window.

It does not matter if we try to export one or 20 reports, the result is the same. It's worth noticing that the same workstation works fine with every other GP 10 feature except this one.

Also is worth noticing that the process actually creates an export package however we do not have any means to know if the package is correct.

Please help us, we haven't found any articles online referring to this issue.

Thanks

Memory errors are usually cuased by a corrupt dictionary. In your case it may be the DYNAMICS.DIC that is corrupt. I would copy the entire contents of another good computer's GP folder to this machine and then try it.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP. Make sure you match 32 bit to 32 bit or 64 to 64 and have all the same products installed.

I agree sounds like a corrupt dictionary....I would rename your Reports.dic to Reportsa.dic, then go into Report Writer and Import from the renamed Reportsa.dic to the new dictionary.  this has worked for me in the past.

    Good Luck!!

After some investigation we found out that the memory error only appeared when we tried to select any of the custom payroll reports to export. So it was in fact a corrupt payroll dictionary.

    Thanks for your help!
