Integration Manager IM Path

Hi All,

The IM path in integration manager keeps dropping and needs to be re-entered everyday (via Tools > Options).

Does anyone have any ideas why this would disappear each day? Is there a ini file or config file that holds this path somewhere? Can it be added to a file so that it is hardcoded?

Kind Regards,

Nia.

The last time I heard of this happening, the customer was doing a restore every night instead of a backup.

IM.INI holds the path.  Does the user have write rights to the folder holding the ini file?

    Hi Richard,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have taken a look at a working IM and its IM.INI and the IMD path is not stored in the file.

    Kind Regards,

    Nia.

    Nia,

Take a look at %appdata%\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics GP\11.0.0.0\IMUser_Data.xml.  The 11.0.0.0 in the path indicates it is for GP 2010, so if you're using a different version, it may be a little different, but you should find that xml file regardless of your version.  That file contains the path to your IM database.  Keep in mind that because this is stored in appdata, that it is unique to each Windows user profile on the machine.

    Regards,

    Nathan

Log in as someone with full admin rights to this computer and then set the path. This time it will stick.

Make sure that user has full control over where the IM.INI resides.

By the way, as per Nathan, this is what is in my IMUser_Data.xml file. The path is on the fourth line. The user will need full control of this folder.

This is the path where the xml file resides.

    C:\Users\TheUser\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Corporation\Microsoft Dynamics GP\10.0.0.0

I am not able to find the XML file in the paths described. I have IM version 14 but I can't find the IMUser_Data.xml in any program files.

Is there another location we may be able to find it for later versions?

    Thank you,

    Mwali
