How do you paste in more than one row in General Journals or Account Schedules?

I see instructions for copy/paste into General Journals and Account Schedules, however this doesn't work for me.

I am using Business Central.

For the General Journals, I can "edit in excel" so there is a workaround there (although copy/paste would be much preferred), but there is no such "edit in excel" option in Account Schedules when I create/edit the row formats - and copy/paste to/from excel would make building custom reports so much easier.

I am selecting all of the rows and then CTRL-V (after copying from an excel workbook) and nothing happens.  If I put the cursor in the first field "row no." and choose CTRL-V, I can only paste one row at a time.  If I select all the rows (as the instructions say), and then select the first row, the row selections are removed.  Either way, I get the message "You cannot paste 48 rows in the selected 1 row".  Same problem whether I'm creating a general journal entry or working in account schedules.

Frustrating! I'm sure there is a simple trick I'm missing, it cannot be this hard.  Any ideas?

    That is strange

If you have a partner asked them to open ticket with Microsoft. I had one strange issue long time ago (in similar concept) and Microsoft ended up to find and solve it (it was issue with new company as well and it was related to how company created by system).

I have tried selecting the first row, the first cell... etc.  What is odd is that a direct copy of this company that was also created today, I can copy and paste multiple rows.

So I figured, copy and paste that one and maybe this will work for us.  Still the same issue.

Then it should work the same. Do you select the fist cell when you copy?

    Hi

I do not think special permission required here. But check your permission in other company and compare.

Also, does your column layout (sequence) match your other company?

    Thanks

I just set up a new company code and Business Central is not letting me post more than 1 row at a time.  I do not get any errors, I only get the first row of my subset to paste.

I have had no issues with my existing company code and set up.  Is there a feature that needs to be turned on?

    Hello,

Please select the entire 1st row and delete it, and then try pasting. If any field in the row contains a value you will get the error message about not being allowed to paste more than n rows in the selected 1 row. To fix delete the entire row. Sometimes its not clear that the row has existing date. If a row contains data you can paste to replace the same number of rows that you have highlighted which is why it works as you have mentioned.

    Hi

This is the exact version I used. I wonder why is working on my environment and not yours.
