Hello,

Can anyone guide me for below requirement ?

Currently i am having external DB where all data (Contacts) are processed and stored.

In Dynamics 365, Contacts will be stored, but transaction related to contacts, I want to just display thosoe data (Do not want to store it in CRM DB) when user clicks on refresh or fetch Button.

Kindly suggest me appropriate method to achieve the same.

Thanks in Advance

Regards,

Rutul

Dynamics 365 v9.0 has a concept of Virtual Entity, where it could treat "external" data source to Dynamics 365. It doesn't create the record directly within Dynamics 365, it will do external API call. Ref: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/lystavlen/2017/09/08/virtual-entities/

    Hi Rutul,

    this is the better solution:

You could call an external webservice "on demand" when you need data.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

i would suggest you use the Virtual Entity option which is made available in V9.0 & its actually meant for such reason

Follow the link mentioned below for more details

    Hi,

One option could be to have something which will make your external DB available for query from CRM online it could be a Service/API, after that you can have a html web resource where you can consume that API to query your external db data based on parameter and can display it over HTML table.

    Thanks
