Smartlist Builder - Linking Tables

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello! I'm having issue in building a report in Microsoft GP 2016 using Smartlist Builder.  I am trying to link two existing GP SQL tables to build a Fixed Asset report.

I am using GP SQL Tables "FixedAssetDepreciation" and "FixedAssets" using Asset ID as the linking field.

The resulting report is giving me duplicate asset information.

How can I link these tables and avoid the duplicate data?

Glad the restrictions came in handy.

Thanks, Mick! I am finding the restrictions do help in reducing the amount of duplicates.  Still learning which restrictions to apply.  I've added filter on transaction type and Book ID.  Looking to see what other fields I need to use to get the report cleaned up.

    Thanks again.

    Very helpful.

Assuming you are linking the FA00100 and FA00902 Tables.

The FA00902 contains all the Financial data for each Period and Year.

You could add Restrictions in the Smartlistbuilder, i.e. Amount > 0, FA Document Number begins with FADEP, etc.

The other option is to add the restrictions to the Smartlist Search and save as a favorite.

Depending on what you are trying to achieve, this linking will return multiple lines, so restrictions are the best option, with the Search adding the final filtering.
