Missing Dynamics 365 Project Operations Dual Write Entity Maps

Hi,

I subscribed for a Project Operations preview.

I have the project operations app in my dataverse instance and dual-write link set-up.

However in dual-write when I follow the doc: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/project-operations/environment/resource-provision-new-environment I cannot find the "Dynamics 365 Project Operations Dual Write Entity Maps" when trying to apply the solution to my dual-write connection.

In dataverse I can see this solution is not present in the environment, I do however see the standard dual-write maps coming with dual-write orchestration solution. This solution does however not include the specific Project Operations maps.

1. How can I install this managed solution manually?

2. If not is there a doc somewhere of all the entity maps so I could recreate them manually for the time being?

Kind Regards,

    Ivan,

Thanks. This is really what I needed.

    Thank you, Ivan!

Faced the exact same issue with D365 PO Subscription Trial because I decided to install Dynamics 365 Project Operations app during the environment provisioning in the PPAC, instead of installing Dual Write Solutions first and then installing Dynamics 365 Project Operations app. The official documentation does not cover the importance of this sequence.

RE: Missing Dynamics 365 Project Operations Dual Write Entity Maps

    Hello,

We had the same issue, opened a support incident, and the support engineer recommended the following resolution which worked:

    • Install Dual Write solutions in the Dataverse environment. In your case in appears you have done that already.
    • Delete your ProjectOperations_anchor solution from the Dataverse environment in make.powerapps.com.
    • In the Power Platform Admin Center, navigate to the environment and go to Dynamics 365 apps. Since the anchor solution is missing, Project Operations will not appear as an installed app in the environment. Install it again. The installation process will detect that Dual Write exists in the environment and install the missing solutions, Dynamics365ProjectOperationsDualWrite and Dynamics365ProjectOperationsDualWriteEntityMaps.

In summary, it appears that the Project Operations installation process looks for Dual Write and if it is installed in the environment, it will install the Project Operations extensions for Dual Write.

Last but not least, this process may change very soon because the roadmap for the 2021 Release Wave 1 includes improvements to the Project Operations provisioning process, so we know some changes are coming. But the resolution above works as of today.

    Hope this helps,

    Ivan
