Batch order sequencing and Master Planning Issue

Dear team,

Hope you can help.

I am trying to run the Master Planning and Sequencing generation, but the results are not the expected one.
I have done all the required steps to set up the sequencing for the products, which are defined with Production type set to Formula and have Formula version too.
By running the Master Plan, with the sequencing cell as active, the normal planned orders are planned according to demand and material availability. Unfortunately the same does not happen by running the Sequencing generation. In the Sequenced planned orders we can see only the products and once I update the Planned orders page the material orders are not updated together with the products.

The delivery date of the sequenced planned orders are offset both backwards and forwards within the defined “bucket” period, according to the sequencing criteria. So by using the delivery dates of the sequenced planned orders, the planner is running the risk of not having available material for the batch orders, or risking that the batch orders will not meet the requested fulfillment dates.

Is there any alternative way to run the Master planning and Sequencing generation according to demand and material availability?

Thank you!

    Hello,

I have run a test on a Contoso environment under USPI company as follows:

    1. Given the pre-defined sequence setup:

    2. Run Master planning for MasterPlan (having Sequence planned orders set to yes) and got following planned orders for selected items. Observe the Order date and Deliver date. Also, observe the calculated Delays.

    3. Open Sequenced planned orders. Observe new start/end dates and the action days. Then select all planned batch orders and click on Accept.

    4. Filter the same planned batch orders within the Planned orders form. Observe that, although Order date and Deliver date have been updated after accepting the sequencing, the Delays are not yet changed.

    5. Re-run Master planning for same plan Master plan and check same planned batch orders. Observe that Order date and Delivery dates have been maintained after sequencing, but, now, delays are properly calculated.

So, please re-run Master planning and check whether derived requirements are now better aligned.

    I hope it will help.

    Best regards,

    Gabriel

    You are right!

Re-running Master Planning, the material orders updated.

    Thank you very much!
