Bulk deletion of records

Hi,

We are about to "bulk delete" around 40.000 old and useless accounts in our CRM.

I have created a view, that I will bulk delete from.

My question is: Is this hard for the system? Should it be done after working hours, or can I do it while people use the system?

    Hello,

    The performance impact on your organization will be minimal. Bulk deletions are done in a background process, just like workflows.

    The only impact you might notice is that some of your workflows will be delayed or run slower.

      

    Specifically for on-premise:

    It really depends on the performance of your Back End Server (which runs the Async Service) if you are on-premise. If you've chosen to install the Front End Server roles and Back End Server roles on one server then, there might be a noticeable impact on performance. Installing these two roles on one server is not recommended, it's best to run those on separate servers.

      

    This issue can not occur for Dynamics 365 (CRM) Online, as Microsoft always runs the Front End roles and Back End roles on separate servers.

    Hi,

    You can schedule it after office hours. The system will remove it based on resource availability.
