GP Fixed Assets GL Batch posting number fails to increment.

We have consolidated two GL companies (both with Fixed Assets) - most work performed by our partner - in July and since then have not been able to create GL batches from the monthly depreciation run.  We get lists (which grow every month) but no action! :(  Any advice on where to start looking?

Thanks,

    Hi Ken,

I have a smimilar issue.   Query returns FATRX000165-V

Can you give me the infor you have from your partner?  I have a test install I'd like to apply it to.

    Thanks!

This is likely a problem with the batch numbers in the Fixed Assets Batch Headers (FA15000) table. The system looks at the maximum value for the GL Interface Batch Number column to determine the next batch number. If your partner consolidated these values using the nonstandard format for these batches it could cause the problem you describe. You can confirm this by running the following against the company database:

    select MAX (GLINTBTCHNUM) from FA15000

If the format of the batch number does not follow a numbering scheme a follows. This is a likely cause of the problem:

    FATRX00000001

In the case I am correct, I would bring this up with the partner that did the consolidation. They either need to change the number scheme of the consolidated FA batches or they need to modify the stored proc that looks for the next batch number.
