POS Integration with Business Central SAAS

Hello Experts,

We are looking for a best method of integrating BC SAAS with third party POS system. We are thinking about following two methods and looking forward to hearing from you on this.

1) Direct API integration with BC and Third Party POS

2) A template will be defined based on the data mapping between BC Sales Invoice and POS Sales. The POS sales transactions will keep in a directory as CSV / XML file using the template. Will create a service in BC and that service will locate the file and read data. Then the service will push those data into BC Sales Invoices. Is there any possibility to create such a service in BC? If yes, pls share if any reference doc.

Suggest, which is the best way to achieve BC integration with third party POS.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Ranjith

The best solution will be to integrate using API's.

You can use both standard API's from Business Central and customize your own API's where you need API functionality that is not covered by the standard API.

Reading transactions from files is also possible.

Then i recommend using xml or json files.

Here is an example on how you can read Json files into a BC Journal.

I am working on extending that sample to automatically read files from an Azure blob storage. But it will take me a day or two until i have that example completed.

    Hope this helps you further.

    Hi Inge M. Bruvik,

Thanks for your response and definitely your thoughts help us.

Since we are new to BC integration it will be great help if you can share any reference for more details about this two methods of integration.

There are many reasons why BC is superior to QB, but which ones do you need? There's no use in switching to BC or any other ERP if your company doesn't require the features. QB is less complicated, which many people like. SubscriptionFlow integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks, allowing businesses to track expenses, automate invoicing, and generate analyzed financial reports, streamlining accounting operations. They also provide CRM for SaaS companies.

Attending a bootcamp should have already demonstrated the capabilities of BC, particularly in terms of cloud version 'turnkey' customizations/addons and integration with new features you may not require right now. Accounting system migration should always be motivated by business necessity rather than the question of "can x replace y." You think quarterbacking stinks, but you don't explain why it stinks in your instance.
