Only able to use one Access Team Template per Entity

Salutations!

I recently had a call with Microsoft where we were looking into Access teams on Dynamics CRM 2013 SP1 UR1 which was resolved, as part of that call I asked a question relating to multiple CRM Access Team Templates on one entity and was advised to post the question on a forum to (hopefully) receive an answer.

My issue is thus:

I can set up as many Access Team Templates as I want and assign them to any entity (custom or otherwise), however when I try to add a sub-grid to the form I am only ever able to select the first Access Team Alphabetically.

Example:

So if I select "Contact Access" and set, save and publish this change, then go back to edit the form, the sub-grid has automatically swapped back to "Contact 1".

This is happening on every entity I try. I need my entities to have two sub-grids with different access teams but currently both sub-grids default to the 1st in the list.

Microsoft have acknowledged that this is not normal behaviour and I experienced the issue before installing UR1, has anyone else had this issue??

Thanks.

David.

Hi David, we are also experiencing this issue.  Do you (or anyway) know if this has ever been fixed in a more recent release or update?

    Hi George,

This is supposed to work in later versions of the product I believe. If you're still using CRM 2013 you may be able to work around this by using different entity Forms, giving each form a different template. You could then look at restricting the Forms based on Security Role??

I haven't tried this but it's a possible work around until you upgrade.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi There,

We are running CRM 2016 version 8.1 (on-premise) and are also experiencing this issue. You cannot have 2 subgrids on a single form (I.e. Account Form) which use different access team templates.

I tested this in Dynamics 365 online and it works.

Just checking with those of you who experienced this issue if you were ever able to resolve?

    Much appreciated,

    Neil

    Hi Neil,

I never did get an answer on this from MS and I forget how I worked around this at them time. My understanding was that it was a bug in CRM 2013 but was resolved in later releases - are you on the latest rollup on Dynamics on prem?

I have a client using 8.0.0.1088 and have the same issue. I'd recommend upgrading to the latest version as we will be soon.

    Cheers,

    David
