Is there any Budget, Target, and Forecast system tools?
They are not the same and should not be confused. They each have different roles to play.
Targets should be externally focused whenever possible (i.e., relative to market, competitors etc.). Targets are goals for improved performance. Targets build commitment and ownership.
Forecasts should be reality checked against targets. If forecasts exceed targets, either we were too timid in the target setting. Forecasts are continuously updated based on new information.
